My name is Georgia, I’m a Creative Writing student at the University of Chester. All of my life I’ve been in love with reading and crafting stories, and, while they really used to be Garbage™, being at university has really helped me hone my writing.
I’m really inspired by the strange and the scary. Defamiliarising the common excites me, and I love to find new ways to turn everyday situations into something uncomfortable. Recently, I’ve found that I really love the challenge of writing flash fictions – short-short stories under 360 words – and I’ll probably explore this more on here. I find it fascinating that you can squeeze so much into so few words!
Although I have my own blog, this blog with my best friend really feels more like an extension of me. We’re going to write what we want to write, based on a monthly theme. Sometimes we’ll base the theme on new releases that we’re excited for, and sometimes we’ll just theme the month around something that we find interesting.
So, hello! I look forward to writing with you 🙂
Hello! I’m Holly and I’m currently studying Primary Education at university, where I’m specialising in English. I’ve adored reading and writing stories from a young age, but unfortunately I’ve not been writing as much as I used to, so I’m hoping this blog will be the motivation that I need to start writing things other than assignments!
My favourite genre has always been fantasy, so expect lots of fantastical elements to my stories (I’ll find any way I can to fit a witch into my writing, no matter what the theme!). I’ll also experiment with the just plain odd – I may have tried to convince Georgia that it would be a good idea for my first post to be about a magical dustbin, but that’s neither here nor there.
I’m very excited to get writing again and delve more into the world of stories than ever before, I hope you’ll come too!
